CNE Innovation Garage

On August 19-21, we were able to showcase Horizon at the 2016 CNE Innovation Garage. This event was the place to be as we were able to exhibit our solar car among the latest in technology and other innovations. Thank you to the organizers of the CNE Innovation Garage who gave us the opportunity to display our car and we hope to visit the CNE again!

We're Back!

University of Toronto Blue Sky Solar Racing and Horizon have successfully finished the American Solar Challenge 2016. Our team placed 3rd out of all the teams that came from the United States, Canada, and Switzerland! Horizon finished the race with a total of 62 hours 11 minutes 03 seconds over the 8 day journey.
We travelled over 1900 miles across the United States of America from Brecksville, Ohio to Hot Springs, South Dakota using solar powered energy. We visited, charged our batteries, raced through and camped at many of the great national parks and historical sites of the areas thanks to the National Park Service. Some of these include the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, George Rogers Clark National Historical Park,  Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield,  Homestead National Monument of America, Scotts Bluff National Monument and the Wind Cave National Park. We had late nights, tough decisions and cloudy days, but from this entire journey we did not give up and we accomplished a 3rd place finish at ASC.
We all would like to thank our supporters, who have helped us during this project. We could not have done this without you!
